The amazing part of this story for me is I have been searching out my family tree
on my fathers side. My fathers mothers fathers family originates from Scotland 1700's.
My great great great grandfather father was born in Scotland and settled in Ga.
one of his children is my great great grandfather Daniel Mc Rae. (1817)
he married and had 12 children.
one of them was my great great Grandfather A. Duncan Mc Rae (1863)
he married and had 8 children.
One of which is my great grandfather Daniel C. Mc Rae. (1887)
Who married and had 3 children.
One was my Grandmother Doris Mc Rae. (1923)
She married and Had my father.(1941)
Okay so you are probably a little confused but my great great grandfather
A. Duncan Mc Rae was the Interior Designer/Painter for the Hotel back in 1890.
I guess you could say Interior Design is in my blood.

If anybody knows or is related to any of the above I would love to hear from you.
My research is at a standstill and I need some more info.
This is all very exciting but is a lot of work.
One day I hope to visit Scotland and the Mc Rae castle Eilean Donan
How exciting Gina! Design is truly in your blood! That is such a beatiful building.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great building, Gina! I love going there and walking around. How neat that your ancestor left his mark on that building and that he was responsible for the interior design.
ReplyDeleteI've got a lot of Scottish ancestry, too (maternal and paternal), so that is probably why I like you so much! :-)
XO,
Sheila
Wow Gina, how cool is that...how fun and exciting to learn about your heritage and where you came from. And to find such a total connection and have your love of design be genetic....well that is just amazing and super cool.
