We always make Pierogies for Thanksgiving dinner

it makes the perfect filling

fold dough over so it makes a semi circle

press fork over ends

and then into boiling water til they float to top

after they have been boiled it is time to pan fry in butter and onions

you can eat with a dollop of sour cream on top

they were yummmmmmmy

I love pink and green together

when I was thirteen I got to redue my bedroom

top to bottom everything was new and I did it all in Pink and Green.

I love the headboard design and the stripe carpet

paired with the dark taupe walls and green night stands who would have thought?

the pale pink ceiling and pale green walls really make this room feel soothing

the hot pink chair adds interest

but I think I would of added a little leopard print somewhere in the room.

Well after 5 days in Tennessee I hopped a plane to Highpoint, NC

To Market with over a million square feet of furniture, lighting, accessories, etc.

Most vender's do not allow cameras

The Macrae/McRae were the Constables of Eilean Donan Castle.

Magnificently situated at the meeting of three lochs - Loch Long, Loch Alsh and Loch Duich

and enclosed by steep sided mountain shores,

Eilean Donan today is one of the most romantic and easily recognised castles in Scotland.

With its outline reflected in the waters of Loch Duich and the moody colours of the mountains and moorlands all around, it is to many people the idyll of a Scottish Highland castle.

The original castle was built in 1220 for Alexander II as a defence against theVikings.
By the late 13th century it had become a stronghold of the
Mackenzies of Kintail (later the Earls of Seaforth).
In 1511, the Macraes, as protectors of the Mackenzies,
became the hereditary Constables of the Castle.
In 1539 Iain Dubh Matheson, chief of the Clan Matheson died whilst defending the Castle on Eilean Donan island against the Clan MacDonald of Sleat on behalf of the
Clan Macrae and Clan Mackenzie.
In April 1719 the castle was occupied by Spanish troops attempting to start another Jacobite Rising. The castle was recaptured, and then demolished, by three Royal Navy frigates in
May 1719. The Spanish troops were defeated a month later at the Battle of Glen Shiel.
The castle was restored in the years between 1919 and 1932 by Lt. Col. John MacRae-Gilstrap. The restoration included the construction of an arched bridge to give easier access to the castle. In 1983 The Conchra Charitable Trust was formed by the Macrae family to care for the Castle

Eilean Donan is quite unique, the product of an incredible feat of determination and devotion to restore the Castle for the MacRae family. It is hard to believe that the present castle has yet to celebrate its 100 birthday, but easy to be absorbed by the atmosphere of a place which has stood witness to so much history.

The old Tampa Bat Hotel is now the University in Tampa.

The amazing part of this story for me is I have been searching out my family tree

on my fathers side. My fathers mothers fathers family originates from Scotland 1700's.

My great great great grandfather father was born in Scotland and settled in Ga.

one of his children is my great great grandfather Daniel Mc Rae. (1817)

he married and had 12 children.

one of them was my great great Grandfather A. Duncan Mc Rae (1863)

he married and had 8 children.

One of which is my great grandfather Daniel C. Mc Rae. (1887)

Who married and had 3 children.

One was my Grandmother Doris Mc Rae. (1923)

She married and Had my father.(1941)

Okay so you are probably a little confused but my great great grandfather

A. Duncan Mc Rae was the Interior Designer/Painter for the Hotel back in 1890.

I guess you could say Interior Design is in my blood.

Here in Sarasota we have a few great magazines and one of them is SRQ.

I was asked a few months ago to do an interview on wallcoverings for the magazine.

They also called a few of my previous clients to get there take on wallcoverings the article came out great I hope you all enjoy.

Nest: Wall-StarsWallpaper, for some, conjures up images of disco-fabulous 1970s starbursts and mustard yellow daisies. But the trend has blossomed for the better since the flower power era. It’s not a tacky, vintage fad anymore.In fact, many contemporary designers are dubbing it “timeless.” Unlike flat, one-dimensional, one-hue paint, wallpaper adds depth, warmth and texture to a space—whether in stripes, spheres or tasteful florals. “We’re seeing a lot of revival trends with large, modern graphics and cool color potential,” says Alison Levin Bishop, an interior designer and the owner of Living Walls. “A lot of people want a faux finish or texture but don’t want to go through the hassle of having a faux painter and wallpaper is the way to do that.”The question nowadays isn’t how to find fetching wallpaper but how to make time for all the catalog swatch sifting. To bypass the legwork, homeowners look to consultants such as Gina Purdy, owner of Sarasota’s Purdy’s Wallcoverings, who steers them toward the five hippest purveyors: York of Pennsylvania, Thibaut (pronounced Tee-Bo) of New Jersey, Romo from the United Kingdom, Jaima Brown from Illinois and Phillip Jeffries from Canada.From there, clients select samples embellished with glass beads, granite, mica, Mother of Pearl, feathers, grass, sand, cork and woven hemp. “Some of the most popular styles today are large patterns, especially damasks and modern stamp motifs,” Purdy says. “Bright colors like lime and yellow are getting paired with deep purple, teals and soft grays.”Riding the Color Wheel Donna Thomas, a Lakewood Ranch Realtor, trekked the Thibaut and Jaima Brown route when redecorating her kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room and children’s bedrooms. The two companies suited her home’s personality—traditional and classic—and had a slew of options for her gold, green and red palette. To match her cherry wood furniture and cabinets, Thomas created a tropical vibe in the kitchen with leaves and vines against a creamy beige base. One bathroom boasts a bouquet design in a sea of regal red, while another blazes in country yellow. “The wallpaper adds a whole other element to the walls rather than just solid paint,” Thomas says. “A lot of people are afraid of color at first, but when they see the wallpaper, they see the rooms come alive.”Dave Weiner and Kyla Yeager, who live in the Kanaya high-rise in downtown Sarasota, went Romo for a boutique hotel ambiance. In the elevator lobby, the couple selected velvety black flowers with a white backdrop. In the family room, it was burnt orange circles against a black slate, and in the guest bathroom, black chandeliers floating in a white expanse. “I think wallpaper has changed so drastically in the last couple decades from your flowery nightmares to some pretty interesting textures,” says Weiner, whose home now has a European, urban contemporary vibe. “It makes a great conversation piece.”Retro RevivalFlocked paper, with its raised—almost velour—surface, is bouncing back from the 1970s, while nature-inspired patterns, stencil-like designs and metallics are being resuscitated. Movies and TV shows, from The Nanny Diaries to The Practice and The West Wing are featuring wallpaper in their frames, Purdy says. “People don’t believe it’s wallpaper because it’s so innovative now. You don’t notice it unless you’re paying attention,” she says. “You can have wall jewels in gold, silver or copper metal filigree medallions and Swarovski crystal starbursts. It can be really elegant.”A little paper goes a long way, too. Keep a wallpapered room simply decorated with a few furnishings and adornments, and choose smaller, more demure patterns for vast spaces. Be unorthodox with the décor. Hang stripes horizontally instead of vertically, or apply paper to a featured wall or in place of a headboard, Purdy says. Tack it to the ceilings, inside bookshelves or to the backs of kitchen cabinets.And don’t worry too much about future revamping. Products such as York’s Easy2™ and SureStrip™ don’t expand when wet, making paper easier to remove. Manufacturers are using recyclable sheets and aqueous inks and coatings that are free of heavy metals and formaldehyde. After going thru the Market and having a roof top lunch we went to Tradd Street.

For those of you who follow my other blog with Kate know that we read the book

"House on Tradd street"by Karen White

it is a great read. Anyway we had to go and check it out

But since the house really doesn't exist on the real Tradd street we stopped here to take a few pictures.

On Thursday I went to go look at a Clients condo in St. Pete

and after doing so I took a trip to Mazzaro's Italian Market
